This station helped my children become Ready to Learn. It helps me stay informed with local programs and in-depth news coverage. A gift to Detroit Public TV is an investment in the future of our community. That's why I encourage you to support the capital campaign for Detroit Public Television. - Dana Locniskar, Detroit Public TV Trustee

Because Minds Matter - The Campaign for Detroit Public Television
master controlTime is running out. Without funds for digital conversion, Detroit Public TV will not be able to showcase Michigan's artists, performers, and natural wonders to national and international audiences.
Campaign for Detroit Public TVWhy do we need $22 million?
  • Replacement of obsolete analog production and broadcasting equipment with state-of-the-art digital High Definition equipment
  • Construction of studios at our Riley Broadcast Center
  • The purchase of a mobile production truck, which allows DPTV to produce programs anywhere in S.E. Michigan
  • Beginning in 2009, PBS will not accept our non-digital programs.
  • To secure the future of public television in Metro Detroit.
Your donation could be the one that takes us to that $22 million mark. With its award of a $1.25 million challenge grant to Detroit Public TV, The Kresge Foundation recently gave our $22 million Campaign for Detroit Public TV a major vote of confidence.
As a condition for receipt of the Kresge Foundation challenge grant, DPTV must raise the remaining funds for the campaign before December 31, 2008.

Detroit Public TV and PBS can inspire anyone with a TV set to engage in deeper, more meaningful ways with the world around them. We also believe in partnering with our local cultural, educational, and civic organizations to help them achieve their goals and strengthen our region.
Dolores and George RileyTo date, we're pleased to announce that we have raised nearly $15 million toward our goal. That success has allowed us to acquire a new facility in Wixom, Michigan, The Riley Broadcast Center, named for our lead campaign donors Dolores and George Riley and their Family Foundation.
