In October 2004, the FBI unearthed remains in a Queens swamp, which forensic tests tied to mob family captains who were killed in the 1980s by future mob boss Joseph "Big Joey" Massino. Massino was convicted of racketeering charges based largely on this evidence, but it was recently announced that he is now cooperating with the Feds. Experts say that, as the first Don to violate the vow of silence that has kept the Mafia in power for so long, his betrayal signifies a turning point and possibly the end of the mob as we know it. Working with FBI special agents, medical examiners and forensic archeologists, the film opens an unprecedented window into the grisly world of organized crime.
