The Path
Deep down the dark, hollow path
Leads to a place, a wonderful place,
A different world.
Going down the path
Is creepy
And dangerous
But I'll take the chance.
I saw the steep, perilous mountain
And the dark narrow pathway.
I started on the pathway
If it leads me nowhere I would go to the mountain.
I went on the old, dark, creepy path
I saw the bare trees that looked like hands about to snatch me.
I felt the sharp pebbles underneath my feet.
My cheeks were red as apples because of the cold air.
I looked into the distance; I saw a wooden bridge with no handles
Lava under it and some of the wood was broken off.
I knew I had to go, I thought to myself.
I took a deep breath and went on.
I thought I would die as the bridge swung from side to side.
I took a step, it shook faster.
I looked at the lava glaring in my eyes.
I saw the fierce flames gaze into my eyes.
As I looked forward I saw two pieces of wood break off.
I felt scared, tense, like I could fall off of the bridge any moment.
I took a huge step so I would not fall into the lava
Because of the broken wood.
It was not enough...my leg fell through the hole.
Using all of my strength, I pushed with my hands and one of my legs. My leg curled up.
Running as fast as the speed of light,
I was panting like a dog.
LAND!
I was at land again.
I looked into the distance.
I saw a steep mountain layered with mud.
I ran up the mountain, sat right in the middle and knew
I was in the world the whole time.
I was in my imagination.
Going down a path can make your imagination go wild.
