Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest The Mysterious Space Adventure
One day something went wrong. While Stephen, a scientist, was cuddled up on the couch the Earth started shaking and the roof started trembling. Lamps, pictures, chairs, and shelves slammed to the floor. Then, all of a sudden, a loud crack came and the TV clammered to the ground. Stephen's family quickly went to the door. Stephen said, "I think it's an Earthquake" and went outside to find help and information.
So he went down the street to the science center and looked through the telescopes. He couldn't see much but just a little blue patch through the clouds. All of a sudden the Earth stopped moving. He thought for a moment and said to himself, "The only thing I can do is to go somewhere above the clouds and see for myself." So he started off toward the space station.
Soon he came to the space station and told the astronauts the whole story. The captain said, "We will come with you if you like." Stephen agreed and started getting everything ready for the trip. But soon he and the astronauts were off the ground and ready for the journey.
When they were in outer space Stephen saw what was wrong. The planets were smacking into each other. The astronauts had no time to think because Uranus was heading toward Earth at top speed. They quickly went outside the spacecraft and knew what was wrong right when they got out. The sun's gravitational pull was broken. They rushed to the nearest yellow dwarf and found that it was perfect for the planets.
When they got back to the planets they started pushing Mercury to the new sun. Then they pushed all the other planets to the new sun and headed back toward Earth.
When they returned to Earth they were rewarded heroes forever. The astronauts were speechless, but they were happy, really happy. The heroes went back home and lived the rest of their lives in peace.
