Canteen Spirit
soldier Canteen Spirit tells the story of the North Platte Canteen, which began as a case of mistaken identity and grew into a legend. At a railroad depot in the middle of America, the people from North Platte, Nebraska, and the surrounding area offered food, friendship and unconditional love to soldiers during World War II. Six million soldiers and 55,000 volunteers shared an experience that should never be forgotten. This documentary offers firsthand accounts from several veterans who passed through the canteen doors, as well as stories from the canteen workers who greeted them.
