Adolescents live in the best of times and in the worst of times. The variety of after-school programs, while frequently beneficial to adolescents, reflects busy adult lives. Families are not what they seem. Adolescents are trying to reconcile their changing bodies in an environment where parents are separated, divorced, or removed from daily mentoring. Structures of Everyday Life delves into the attitudes and perceptions of today's adolescents. Weaving together narrative and vignettes to examine some of the problems faced by today's young adults - represented by a group of Reno, Nevada teens - Structures includes honest expressions of sense-of-self, sexuality and pregnancy, drug use, feelings of isolation, and finally, healing.
