Get Up! Get Out!
Winter, spring, summer and fall there are always fun things to do around Southeast Michigan. Each week Fred and Kelley, hosts of Get Up! Get Out!, show families fun activities to do together. In its third season, Get Up! Get Out! has visited many different places in the area including the Ponds Nature Center in Dryden Michigan, Frisbee Golf at Kensington Metropark, BMX Racing at Waterford Oaks, Wiard's Orchard in Ypsilanti, Ice Fishing at Willow Metropark, Ice Skating at the Detroit Skating Club and Fred and Kelley's favorite, visiting the Detroit Zoo."My favorite place to visit as a family, anytime of the year is the Detroit Zoo. We have spent many memorable days enjoying nature, the animals and just getting out walking and talking in the fresh air," says Kelley. "Some of our best family memories have been made at The Detroit Zoo."
You'll visit cool places, and Fred and Kelley will also show you various projects that you can do right at home, like building a weather station. Building a weather station is fun and easy. Most of the things you'll need for your weather station can be built with common household items. The basic elements of a weather station are a wind vane, barometer, rain gauge, and a maximum/minimum thermometer. Find out more on how to make a weather station and what household items to use.
